About Shana's Family
Shana was born and raised in south Florida. She grew up with her parents, Myra and Jan, her sister Natanya, and brother Ari. We also had 4 kitties, a couple of hamsters, a crab, and hundreds of goldfish. The family now has two more kitties in Florida, a dog in Michigan with Ari, and most importantly, Shana's kitty who is a world traveler (taking about 50 flights).
About Cody's Family
Cody grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. He grew up with his parents, Donna and Adam, and his sister Paige. He also grew up with 3 puppies and 2 kitties.
How we met
Our story is a lesson about waiting. After 5 introductions over the course of a year, as soon as Shana was moving back to Atlanta for a clinical rotation, Cody asked her on a date while at a Chanukah party. Their first date was at a canvas and cocktails place, involving painting and wine. Cody learned of Shana's artistic expression when she painted her kitty instead following the instructions to paint a dog.
Our Adevntures
Long distance relationships can have their perks. For us, it presented the chance to travel across country and around the world.
Our adventures started with a trip to the mountains, a visit to Chicago to meet one another's families, and a road trip across country. The biggest adventure was taken during the summer of 2017.
The Proposal
In June of 2017, we spent a month time traveling. We went to San Diego, Australia, New Zealand, Vancouver, and Alaska.
At the halfway point, while in Vancouver, Cody asked Shana to spend the rest of their lives together.
She said YES!
